About Our Reactive Dog Training

A reactive dog overreacts to normal situations that other dogs would take in stride. They become overstimulated easily and may bark, lunge, and growl at something as simple as another dog or person walking on the other side of the street. Attention to training is extremely important, as reactivity can turn into aggression. The cause of reactivity is usually a lack of proper socialization, fear, or improper training.

If your dog is showing these types of issues, our training experts are here to help! First, we will identify triggers, and from there we can work on a training plan to mitigate your pup’s reactive behavior. Get started today!

Growing up, I do not have a single memory of life without dogs. We have always been a dog family. My first ever dog was a black lab,Eli. I was naturally drawn to the “why” whenever Eli did something, or he learned something. Throughout his early years, training with him was my favorite pastime. Starting…

We met with Sit Means Sit within 3 weeks of adopting our male Rottie rescue, who was guestimated to be between 1-2 yrs old, because we knew that at 97 pounds (and growing) he would need to learn some manners/boundaries. We have been training with them now for several months and they have taught him and us more than we expected. It’s more than just manners – he looks to us for direction on any exercise and we learn how to give him the right direction for what we want him to do. He loves all the trainers there and gets excited to go to group training sessions! In the time we’ve been there, the program has progressed to include more advanced exercises, and the facility itself has been upgraded. We’ve had other Rottie rescues that we’ve trained, and our best experience has been here.

This is fantastic training! I was desperate after trying other dog training and none worked for Milo and me. I found Sit means Sit and decided to invest in what I knew was my last hope. It is SO worth the investment! I love the group classes you get to join after the all-day lessons! The group classes really help you bond more with your pup while working on new tricks! Milo had aggressive behavior on leash and we have grown so much since the first day! Milo is also people shy but he loves the trainer! If you put in the work at home and come to the group classes then you will get the well trained pup you always imagined you could have! The staff gives 100% and it has helped me and milo be more confident together! Can’t wait to keep moving forward!
